the studio side, all cleaned out!
I can’t even tell y’all how good it feels to finally be making construction progress! In the last few weeks, we’ve made huge leaps: plans are into the city for permits, interior demo is nearly complete, and exterior work is about to begin.
Pretty dramatic, right? All the walls have been cleared out, and we finally get to see those big cedar beams in all their glory. Our contractor has also started laying out the positioning of the walls and plumbing lines so we can get a better idea of how the space will flow – that’s all those blues lines in the post-demo pic above.
We also received the first sketches for the back parking-lot-turned-garden, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! Here’s a little sneaky peek:
Having this huge amount of outdoor space (about 800 feet in the front, and 3000 feet in the back) was one of the primary reasons we chose this building, and I’m having a blast daydreaming about how it will look once it’s complete.
Next up at the House: feedback from the city of Lake Worth (who have been so helpful and amazingly supportive of our project – thanks, guys!), most likely some (a lot of) revisions to our plans, and finally, those permits we need. Finishes and fixtures are already being ordered, and then we’ll be full steam ahead.
Thanks for following our progress!
